Amanda: My Perales are from Durango and the remainder now live in Riverside CA and surrounding communities. My grandfather was a cowboy( vaquero on my grandmother 's familie's hacienda. He fell into a well and when rescued she nursed him to health and married him. She claimed spanish ancestry and I belive that he was a Tepehuan indian . They may have lived in texas when they came here, I dont know, nor do i know of family there though there may be some. Good Luck
