My family left Cuba in 1962 and I am searching to see if we have "any" relatives remaining alive. We only know of 1 uncle in Miami. Any other relatives would be distant. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My father Jesus Alfredo Rovirosa brought our family over in June of 1962. He had one sister Lilia who died in Cuba. As far as our immediate family goes, it was just our siblings. We have some cousins, but have no knowledge of them.

I knew that my family had originated in Catalunia, Spain so I had a point of reference to start my search for the origen of our last name Rovirosa. The name Rovirosa originated in Catalunia sometime in the early part of the middle ages. However, the meaning of the name seems to be much older than that. The name means wheel. Thus indicating that the meaning dates back to the roman period.
