I have more information I posted:
I have discovered that my paternal grandfather had no TV in his house -hahaah - he had, a confirmed 32 children, but my aunt, who is 73 years old, says he had more. God only know how many. I also discoverd that my paternal grandfather's youngest son is here in the United States - his name is Luis Estrada, and he is 39 years old, only 6 years older than I am. He is a half brother of my father's. I found out all of this from a family member - a very reliable source--who shall remain nameless. I don't want to give up my canary haha.
Anyhow, this is what I know, some information I already mentioned in responses to some people, and a little extra more information that I just remebered that my canary told me:
My paternal grandfather, Tomas Estrada, was married to my about five different women, and he had children with all of them. That is how he was able to have so many children. I know that when I was born in 1970, he died shortly after, and did not see the New Year. When he died, he was about 93 years old, which means, the he had to be in his 60's when my father was born, because my father was 31 years of age when I was born. I know that one of his ex-wives, Carlita, just recently died.
Pa told me that we are family of Tomas Estrada Palma, who was the first president of Cuba under a democracy. Pa told me he was an uncle, but I talked with my maternal grandmother, and she says she thinks they may have been cousins. I'm betting they were cousins, because Pa probably is embarrassed about his father, and didn't want to say anything. This would make him like a third cousin of mine. My paternal grandmother, Eduvijes Fonseca, God rest her soul, had six sons in this order:
Enrique (who just died October of 2004)
Jose Angel (known as Chenguele, o El Cocuyo)
Francisco Julia (Paquito)
Carlos Roberto (my father)
Andres
Manuel (Manolito - who died in 1993, or 94, I'm not sure).
Tio Enrique and Tio Manolito have sons named after them, who I have been told by our cousin Carlos Andres, are both in Havana, Cuba. Carlos Andres is Tio Paquito's son, and he was named after my father and my Tio Andres. He has a wife, Laura, and a daughter, Ivelise Chaveli. They live in Florida. My Tio Changuele, who is in Miami, Florida, has a daughter, my cousin Mirsa, who is about nine years older than I am, and also has a son born her, who is about 17 years of age. His name is Brian, I believe. I haven't seen him since he was a baby. I don't know much more about my father's side. I think it's time to ask the canary and my parents some questions....Unless someone out there knows something....
Thank You,
Lissy Estrada Pereiro
