Classification: Query
Surnames: O'Fallon, O'Higgins, Fallon
Greetings,
I have heard of both the O'Fallon and O'Higgins, but i don't know exactly how one branch moved to Spain and how. I wonder if the O'Higgins mentioned here are related to the family of Ambrose O'Higgins of Chile. There is a Fallon family there, but i also don't know if they are related to the O'Fallon.
I would think the O'Fallon came to Spain as soldiers. It is very likely that their earliest ancestor there was some coronel in the Spanish armies, and that he was stationed at Vitoria.
There were some Irish regiments in Spain. Of the top of my head, i can think the one named Hibernia.
As for the surname, it is ancient.
