Seek the location of 1850s Havana grave of kinsman "Lt" Thomas Cowan James of Wilmington, North Carolina, USA, who with hundreds of U.S. "filibusterers" illegally (both Cuba and U.S. law) invaded Cuba to "free" and annex it to U.S. and re-establish slavery. Lt. James was one of many captured, convicted, executed, and likely mutilated. Belive James was executed in or near castle? Captured unexecuted, I think were sent to Spain?
