I am trying to find a source for a listing of colonial plantation owners on Haiti. I am looking for the family Senet/Chenet/Senette. They could have been indigo growers. We have an ancestor that in family lore was born at "Ville de Alresta." We cannot find any place like this and thought they might have come from Haiti. They had lands and a plantation in Louisiana on the Bayou Teche at Attakapas.
Any help would be appreciated.
