Surnames: Pestana, Bonadie, daSilva, Pestano, Pishton
My paternal grandmother, born in 1881, was a Pestana from St. Vincent. Her name was Anna Isabella Pestana Bonadie. Her parents were Emanuel Pestana and Carolina daSilva. Emanuel and both of Carolina's parents were from Madeira, though Carolina was born in St. Vincent. My grandmother's birth certificate lists the name as Pestano, but in later years, it was changed to Pishton.
