Como estas, Yonira? Long time...
Anyways- the Couvertier lineage in Puerto Rico (unrelated to Couverthier at least in PR) came to Naguabo in the 1800's via the Canary Islands. It was 3 brothers who moved to Naguabo, and two moved to different cities after getting married.
Our geneology is very difficult to follow because of personal issues amongst some of our ancestors, ie. children taking their mother's name rather than their father's, which is the case of my grandfather Isidoro Couvertier who's last name should have been Latimer. It is said that Latimer also had Couvertier blood, and that is why Isidoro took the last name.
There are many of us... Isidoro alone has over 20 children, and probably a hundred grandchildren!
