I have began doing research into my Family Tree and I'm currently looking for information on the Cornibert family. I have discovered that in March 1782 a French soldier named Devaux St.Philippe married a planters daughter called Marie Francoise Cornibert du Boulay. They had 17 children, one of which may be my ancestor. (see
http://cafe.rapidus.net/aldevaux/story.htm) It is possilbe that at that time the Cornibert family and the du Boulay's were one and the same. Can any one varify this? The story from one of my aunts is that my great-great-great grandfather was illegitimate and therefore given only part of the family name - her conclusion is that all the St Lucian Corniberts are desented from this one man. Has anyone come across any of these families? Let's talk.
