Hi: The reason they left Austria was for religious reasons. My great, great mother was Rachel Miller daughter of Joseph and Magdalena Hofer Miller. Rachel m. Elias Wipf and was born Jan. 3, 1816 and died 26 Feb. 1891. I was told that when her husband Elias was killed in cyclone in 1884 Bridgewater, SD she joined the colony I'm presuming Wolf Creek Colony, Freeman, SD but have yet to substantiate this. I would love to find out any info on Rachel or if there is any descendants out there that would have a picture of Rachel and or Elias. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks, Judy Evans
