There was a Millonig family that lived on 28th Street near Hopkins--across from the AO Smith Company during the 1940s and later. The father was Phillip (born in 1901, died in 1976, I believe). He was either from Achomitz or Feistritz. I forgot the mother's name--an aunt of mine, of sorts. I think her mother was a sister of my grandfather's. Their son, also Phillip, would be my age (68, if alive today). He would probably be my second cousin, first removed--I think.
I came across a listing of a Phillip Millonig, aged 68. Some of these listings can be quite inaccurate--listing some deceased as being alive. I believe Junior, his nickname, died thirteen years ago.
From an online obit listing:
Millonig, Phillip M.
Born to Eternal Life Tues., July 14, 1998, age 55 years. Dear father of Paige (Jerry) Wolf, Madrice (Gary) Prestidge and Carrie (Stacy) Raad. Loving grandfather of Matt, Nick and Taylor. Brother of Pete Schaubach. Also survived by special aunts, Gertrude Krammel and Pauline Benes, other relatives and friends.
Memorial Service Fri., July 17 with Visitation at 5 PM and Services at 7 PM at the: ZWASKA FUNERAL HOME 4900 W. Bradley Rd. Private Interment.
If desired, memorials may be offered to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
This would obviously be my deceased cousin Phillip (Juni), as all the parts fit.
His father lived until his death 35 years ago at the same 28th Street Milwaukee address. He originally was a boarder at my grandfather's sister's residence and eventually married her daughter, back during the early 1940s.
From 1943 to 1946, my parents lived in a flat owned by another sister of my grandfather--Tante Paula--before moving into my grandfather's older farmhouse at 4206 West Capitol Drive. At one time (around 1910 or a bit earlier to 1928), my grandparents owned some thirty acres (six city blocks) in then semirural Milwaukee, then still in the town of Wauwatosa, according to Census reports. Three, then two city lots were retained after 1928, whose house was where I lived during my elementary-school years from 1946 to 1956, when my parents moved to Brookfield.
