Well, they had a school, but only a primary school. Jaudling had less than 300 inhabitants.
1869 came out a school law that said the boys had to go to primary school for 8 years. or alternative 5 years primary school and 3 years "Bürgerschule" with higher ambitions, which only existed in bigger towns.


You also should think over, that the borders and nations have changed in the meantime...
And it´s quiete possible that they had relatives in Germany and Ferdinand could live in their house ...

Mathias was not named as a weaver, always as a farmer.
Paul Fuchs, weaver in Jaudling, is named as witness of marriage. He was a brother of Mathias:
