Hoping some of you still check back after all this time. I have come across a VonBraunsberg in my own research into my Fichtelmann ancestors who immigrated from Bavaria to Brooklyn, NY as early as 1851. I have one Henry L. VonBraunsberg b about 1872 in NY, son of Carl VonBraunsberg b. Germany [from various census] and Catherine ?Oltermann born in Pa. Henry L. VonBraunsberg married Catherine Margaret Fichtelmann on May 17, 1903 in "Atonement" Church in Brooklyn, NY. They had just one daughter that I know of, Dorothy VonBraunsberg born about 1904. Through the 1930 census this family lived in Brooklyn, NY. At the time of his marriage, Henry L. VonBraunsberg lived at 355 7th Ave, Bklyn, NY. It appears that he dropped the "Von" from his name and we see him on Bklyn census' as: Bronsberg, Braunsberg, Brownberg etc. On his marriage certificate his name is spelled VonBraunsburg. I have not figured out exactly where his wife Catherine Margaret Fichtelmann fits into my Fichtelmann family yet but she was living with my great grandfather Frederick Fichtelmann at the time of her marriage. Willing to share what I have.
