I am from WI. My Family lived In Milwaukee, and South Milwaukee. My Great Grandfather came here from Switzerland. His name was Meinrad Hofer My Grandmother was his daughter, and also was told she was a desendent of Andreas Hofer, and her Father had a trunk with some of Andreas Hofer's possesions, when he died the trunk went to my great aunt, no one ever knew what happened to it after her death. There was said to be the order for his execution in there, which my Mother saw, it had a seal in wax. rolled and wrapped with a old ribbon. I am looking for my ancestors, from Switerland, does anyone know of Meinrad Hofer he married Margaret Hart, from Bavaria, and they had 13 children.
