According to my Father, the Sobek Family broke into 3 branches. One stayed in the present day Czech Republic, one moved to the Berlin, Germany, area, and finally one moved to Vienna, Austria.

Supposedly, this was a Baron Sobek, who was given title and castle by, I believe, Frederick the Great, or is it Franz-Josef. He was given the the job of Police Chief of Vienna. I believe that the title was given because of his outstanding service as Police Chief.

My Father conversed with some descendants before World War II, and they were still in Vienna.
