My gfather came from gornji kris which is near zuzemberk, slovenia. It is in the mountains--1354 ft.
Apparently, it is near Italy--used to be Austria.
I'm not sure where Pola is but I'm going to look it up.
I'm trying to look up telephone numbers but the directory
is not available in English at this time. Will keep in touch, thanks for your info.
