My mother did some research and we have a connection to the family that settled in the Herman Town area. As a child she traveled to Chicago to visit relatives named Krietenstein. The settler was a Krietenstein by birth, but took his wife's family name of Keisau. They were from the Lippe Detmold area. My son lives in Evanston, so I started a search to find the family she visited in the Chicago area.
Her family came in the mid-1800's.
