On 30 June 1830 in Wehdem Parish, Johann Heinrich Winkelmann (born 9 March 1805 at Oppenwehe 44) married Marie Wilhelmine Henriette Clasing (born 17 September 1811 at Westrup 15). Johann Heinrich died 16 February 1845, and on 7 August 1845 his widow married Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Tiemann (born 24 February 1822 in Oppendorf).

According to Wilhelm Niermann’s database of Stemwede emigrants, from these two marriages five sons (one from the first marriage and four from the second) emigrated to America:

Hermann Heinrich Berend Winkelmann, born 2 October 1840 at Oppenwehe 44. Emigrated in 1857.

Heinrich Wilhelm Tiemann, born 14 September 1849 at Oppenwehe 44. Emigrated in 1868.

Christoph Heinrich Wilhelm Tiemann, born 8 January 1852 at Oppenwehe 44. Emigrated in 1866.

Christian Heinrich Wilhelm Tiemann, born 9 January 1855 at Oppenwehe 44. Emigrated in 1872.

Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Tiemann, born 10 November 1857 at Oppenwehe 44. Emigrated in 1874. Mr Niermann’s database adds the following note to this emigration record: "He emigrated to Missouri and trained there to be a salesman. He married Caroline Wilhelmine Henriette Klüsener, born 15 February 1864 at Oppendorf 22. In 1910 the family moved to Oakdale, California."
