Grimms & Baptisms in Bavaria - Circa 1700

I'm tracing my Grimm ancestors who lived in Bavaria in the 17th century and probably longer. I've gotten back to roughly 1713 with the birth of an ancestor, Joannes Petrus Grim, son of Jacob Grim & Maria E Pompin/Bumb. I'm guessing Jacob was born about 1686. I've found candidates who could be him, but they were baptized in Kusel, Steinwenden and married in places such as Oberndorf (in Rockenhausen) and Obermoschel. My question is, whats the furthest a family would travel to have a child baptized? An hour at the most? Maybe 10-30 min? Would they stay in the same town over 100's of years of the same state? Any help appreciated.
