Frank and Bernard Huelskamp came from a farm near Hamm. They inherited their mother's maiden name since she was an only child and the farm was in her name. The father's name was something like Tharman, but I am not sure of the spelling and have lost my original notes. The Huelskamp name comes from a coal Kamp in my opinion. There were many coal camps in the Hamm area in the 1800s. Several streets in Hamm end in Kamp. I visited Hamm and a local said the Kamp part came from coal camps in the area. I met a Huelskamp in St. Louis many years ago and he was a security guard to John L. Louis, the famous coal miner workers leader.
