Hi ~ I don't know where my Bathe family comes from originally - brick wall! I do have an Orville Bismark Kracht on my tree married to Blanche Opal Bathe (b. 1899, Illinois; d/o John Frederick Bathe & Arla Jane Williams). Following is my Bathe ancestry: GEORGE BATHE/BAITH/BEATH SR. - my 4th g-grandfather, b. 1762, Lancaster County, PA , d. 10/4/1844, Palestine, Crawford County, IL, m. 9/15/1789, Bourbon County, KY, to Susanna Wilson (b. 4/9/1770, Berkely County, VA; d. 1854, Palestine, Crawford County, IL; d/o Edward & Phoebe Jane Flemming). I show George to be a brother of James/Jimmy Bathe/Baithis/Beethe. James helped build and lived at Strode's Station (KY) and is known for being captured by Indians (per the Draper Papers and John Shane's interviews). Served in the Revolutionary War in PA and VA. JAMES BATHE SR. - my 3rd g-grandfather, b. 1803, Bracken County, KY, d. Abt 1853, Jonathan Creek, Moultrie County, IL, m. 11/22/1832, Vermilion County, IL, to Malinda Powell (b. 1816, IN; d. 1853, Jonathan Creek, Moultrie County, IL; d/o John Powell Sr. & Margaret "Peggy" Huff). Enlisted in Army, Newport, KY; however, he deserted in 1828 and was apprehended, and deserted again in 1830. GEORGE RILEY BATHE - my 2nd g-grandfather, b. 3/20/1842, Moultrie County, IL, d. 11/30/1916, Lenapah, Nowata County, OK, m. 10/12/1865, OH, to Margaret Ann McDonald (b. 2/4/1844, Madison County, OH; d. 9/3/1890, Decatur County, IA; d/o Maley McDonald & Mary Ferguson). Served in the Civil War, 3rd IA Cavalry; mustered out 8/9/1865 as Sergeant Major (I have a great photo of him in his uniform!) AVON EUGENE BATHE - my g-grandfather, b. 8/21/1879, Bloomington, Decatur County, IA, d. 10/30/1954, Oklahoma City, OK, m. 11/14/1900, Clinton, Henry County, MO, to Cora May McFarland (b. 3/26/1875, MO; d. 11/17/1954, OK; d/o Robert McFarland, Jr. & Nancy Ann Elisabeth Hannah). I look forward to hearing from anyone that connects with any names listed above! Thanks so much for your time and assistance! Sandra Bathe Cole
