"Evangelisch" means the church. In German the protestantic church is called "evangelisch". Schwelm is the place name. It is situated near Wuppertal in Nordrhein-Westfalen (Northrhine-Westphalia). Westfalen (=Westphalia) is the name of the former Prussian province and Preussen is the Kingdom of Prussia. Immigration ports in those days were for this area Hamburg and Bremerhaven, more seldom Cuxhaven and Emden, maybe a Netherlands port like Rotterdam or Amsterdam.
