My grandfather was named Fritz Petereit, he died in December of 1942 as a member of the Luftwaffe. My mother was born two monthes after his death. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Marianne & Edward Wagner in Duisburg, Germany. She was not allowed access to her father's family. The only other name I have is from church records in Germany, Franz Petereit was listed as her "Godfather" on the day she was baptized, possibly her uncle?
