The Unity of the Brethren church, as it was known in NC at the time, was a formal name for the Moravian Church, which is still very active in Forsyth County, NC (Winston-Salem). This is fortunate, if we have the same church, because the Moravians took very detailed records of everyday life and believed it to be a type of devotion.
