I am looking for information on my grandfather Martin Heiser (various spellings) born near Baden about 1821, came to America 1855, married Maria Pearson in Marquette Michigan 03 Feb 1857, two children Allen 1855 and Hannah 1857.
He enlisted in Civil War 04 Aug 1861 and fought for four years. Returned to Michigan and married Louesa Schwarz(Schwartz) 06 Jul 1867 in Marquette Michigan and they moved to Negaunee Michigan where they raised their family of five children. Martin died 12 Mar 1911 and Louesa 02 Sept 1897.
There is a possibility of a third family before Maria Pearson.
I know nothing for certain about his life before coming to America.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
