Thanks for the translation and overview. I was going to ask about why the year 1800 was in there! Never seen a year written that way.
I read that earlier in the 1800's, troops in the Prussian army served for three years and were in the reserves for two, then served in the Landwehr a few weeks annually for seven years.
That helps explain these entries, though the lengths of time may have changed by 1870.
Does this timeline sound right?
13 Nov. 1869 - joined the army, just before he turned 20.(p7)
1 Oct 1871 - made corporal (p9)
5 Sept. 1872 - discharged to the reserve in Berlin (p8)
13 Oct 1872 - Berlin to Teltow to Ziesar (p18)
1 Oct 1876 - transferred to the Landwehr (p13)
1879 - training(?) in Quedlinburg (p19)
1880 - training in Magdelburg (p16)
8 Sep 1881 - permission to leave (p20-21)
18 Nov 1882 - service was finished (p13)
The entries on pages 14/15 are dated 1875 - possibly something about reserve activity?
Thank you again. No way could I have pieced this all together.
