Hello, Am new to ancestry and came across a possible clue to my grandfather...

Can anyone tell me what the phrase It. priv. Mittlg. in Gefgsch. means? The words are obviously abbreviated within the phrase and are found commonly throughout the log of WWI casualty lists, 1914-1917. It's important to me as it relates to Marutz, my possible grandfather.

Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
Petra
