I have hit a brick wall with two of my German ancestors and would appreciate any pointers anyone can give.
They are Lorenz Haas (b ~ 1823 Bavaria) & Catherine Kreis (b ~1826 Baden).
I have their ship passenger manifest (arrived 3 Jan 1850 in NYC on the Gladiator, which originally departed from Le Havre), census records (in NYC and Newark) from 1850 to 1900 (he died in 1900, she died in 1906), his Civil War draft registration (he doesn't appear to have served), YEARS of city directories (NYC and Newark), their marriage certificate (Dec 1850, NYC), baptism certificates for most of their children, marriage certificates for several of their children, both of their death certificates, his will, their interment information in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Newark AND his naturalization records (first papers and final petition).
Not a single thing mentions what town(s) either one of them were from.
What do I do now? Aside from beat my head on the brick wall.
