Hi Bob. Thanks for the response. I really have no idea who Mr. Mueller would be. I have never heard his name before. I have always suspected Allersterwiell as a town name, but even a quick Google search returns nothing on it. I'll look into Allistarville and let you know what I find.

My ancestor lived in German Township, Bremen, Indiana. The first record of Frederick that I for sure have found is in the 1880 census. Frederick came to the country in 1869 though. There is someone with the same name nearby in the 1870 census, but beyond name and relative age, I have no proof that he is the same Frederick I am looking for.

It's interesting that you mentioned Alsace-Lorraine though because Frederick's wife's (Lydia Cripe) ancestors came from Alsace-Lorraine about 5 generations prior.
