Depends on lots of factors, i.e. catholic or evangelical lutheran? Ultimately, however, it is
a guess. It could be written in old German script or in Latin, etc. Simply order the films
and see what you find. You might be surprised - pastors often wrote the family names in
the same script we use today while the remainder of the entry could be in Latin (same script as today) or old German script.

The LDS family history centers have both of the church records (catholic and protestant):
