Picaman or Pickerman (sounds like) @ 1850's from Hamburg

Somewhere around the mid 1850's, three brothers immigrated to the United States from Hamburg. When they got here, they had a hard time with their original name so one changed his to Picaman, another to Pickerman and the third to another spelling of similar nature. Picaman was my g-grandfather. I understand at one point in time all ended up around the Paducah, KY area sometime around the Civil War. Please advise if you have any info. thx.
