I have a great grandmother named Sophie Wilhelmine Braul who was 'born at sea' in about 1861. The 1911 England census indicates her birth was registered in Diepholz Province, Germany. Her marriage certificate (England 1890) indicates her father was an 'unknown sailor - lost at sea'.

If there are any persons out there who may have access to birth records in Diepholz, Germany or who could possibly point in the right direction I would be most grateful.
