Classification: Immigration
Surnames: HELDT, WERBELOW
Clarification: It's Minnie (Wilhelmine) HELDT! My great great grandfather, Gottfried Heldt, emigrated with Christian Werbelow and Minnie.

Gottfried Heldt emigrated from Pomerania on the ship America. He arrived in New York on 18 July 1868. The passenger list identified his occupation as a shoemaker. Also on the ship was Christian Werbelow (farmer) and his wife Wilhelmine, children Christian and a baby. Christian Werbelow was a baptismal sponsor to Gottfried Heldt and Marie Heldt's children.

I'd love to exchange information with you about this branch of the family... it's been a sticking point for me for years.
