Hello, your memory is correct.

Johann Peter Johannsen DOB: 1805 had a sister
Catharina DOB: 1816. Hörup, Schleswig-Flensburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany

Their parents were Jurgen Johannsen DOB: 1778 Lüngerau, Schleswig-Flensburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
Died: 1846; and,

Anna Catharina Bruhn DOB: 1775 Kollerup, Schleswig-Flensburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
Died: 1825.

Peter Christian’s wife Anna Christina died after 9 years in NZ, Peter married an English women then, Harriett Johnson.

They lived in a small town called Oxford in Canterbury.
I cannot find any reference to children coming to NZ with them hence the mystery of the poorhouse and leaving their babies 2,3 & 4yrs behind.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.
Cheers Steve
