"Might anyone be researching the Lohse & Garnitz families ...
August Lohse 48, Wilhelm 22, Wilhelmine 24, Caroline 14, and Friedrich ... settled in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I have further information on Wilhelmine and Caroline, who married in Milwaukee, but not Friederich and Wilhelm. Any insight would be greatly appreciated."
MrMarv50 -- have you looked at the German papers for the missing Friedrich & Wilhelm? I wonder if they're the Fred. B. Lohse or Fred. Wm. Lohse listed in "Milwaukee's German Newspapers; an index of death notices and related items" (1844-1950). Compound names can create a lot of research confusion. There's also an entry for a William Lohse. There are over 30 Lohse entries in the current index, and there are connections referenced with the names Brenecke Kempen Kurzhals and Neckel.
