I don't know of any other family members who came from Bohemia (Czeck Repub.) with my great-grandfather, Joseph Cerny and his son, Vaclav, my grandfather, when they arrived in Chicago, about 1873. There were 23 Cerny men registered to vote in Chicago in 1892 and I am trying to learn if one of the Josephs and the only Vaclav on the list are my ancestors. I only know that Vaclav was born in Myskovice 1867, my grandmother, Marie Vancura in Limnovice in 1869 but have no other information. How did you obtain information about families still living there? I have heard you can write to someone who will do research there for a nominal fee, but not tried that yet, so who knows if Joseph and your John might have been related? Are the villages you mentioned near Prague?
