I am researching my husband's family history. His g-grandfather immigrated to Texas through Galveston in 1913. He was orphaned and his only living sibling died that year. The story I've heard is his brother who was a coal miner was hanged. His parents died in a "revolution". He was raised by his aunt, listed on his immigration registry as Barbara Hajdecka in Stara Bela. He was born in Stara Bela. He worked in Studenka from 1906-1913. I don't think there are any relatives living there now, but we'd like to know more about the possible circumstances around the death of his parents and brother. I know there were many tensions in the region and with WW1 starting the next year smaller incidents are hard to trance.
