I looked at all 11 of the Moravian Nova Ves possibilities, either in an index or in the actual pages for August of 1883 and 1884. Nothing. No Pan_k in any.
I looked at the Republic County pages in the Sobotka book, and the Czechs there are mostly from Bohemia, with a number from the Jihlava, Moravia area. But there are about 3 dozen Nova Ves in the Praha archives for Bohemia, let alone the Plzen archives.
Perhaps as the one poster said, if you read the "they went to dinner" articles in the newspaper, you might find a clue. If there's something you don't understand in the article, it's probably useful. :)
