I don't think that's them, anyway. I found that family in the 1910 census. John Jr. and all the other kids were born in Minnesota.
I found John and Mina's obituaries on newspaperarchive.com, a subscription database that I can access from my local library's computer. John's obit says he was born in Nova Vesta, Czechoslovakia, the son of Paul and Agnes Panek. He emigrated in 1907, coming to Chicago; moved to Kansas in 1909. Married Minnie on 24 May 1911 (she was from the vicinity of Cuba, Kansas).

It might be a good idea to contact your local library and see if they have access to newspaperarchive.com There were over 100 articles in Kansas newspapers regarding the Panek family (most of them of the "so-and-so Panek returned home after visiting so-and-so").
