I'm looking for information on the family of my great grandmother, Regina Margaret Sachs, b. 30 Nov 1898. She was the daughter of Frank Sachs (b. 20 Aug 1860 in Hungary - d. 27 Nov 1924 in Waverly, VA)and Elizabeth Gfelner (b. 19 Nov 1853 in Hungary - d. 1 May 1927 in Waverly, VA). I have no information about the family of Frank Sachs (also known as Ferencz in an immigration record). I would love to at least find out the names of his parents.

Elizabeth Gfelner was the daughter of Jakob Gfelner and Terezia Bauernfeind. There is a family story that she was married once before she married Frank Sachs and that she had two children, possibly sons, by her first husband. If the children existed, they never came to the USA. I would love to know if a first husband, and the rumored children, did exist. I would also like to know any information available about the parents of Jakob Gfelner and Terezia Bauernfeind.

Elizabeth and her children arrived in New York in 1901, and went to Passiac, NJ before moving to Philadelphia, PA. They moved to Waverly, VA in abt 1908.

Frank Sachs arrived 27 Jun 1899 with Elizabeth's brother Gyorgy (Jakob) Gfelner and his children. There is also a Mihaly Sachs listed with them, widowed, possibly Frank's brother.
