Hi Dianne -

I have been to the Archives in Przemsyl and the staff is very helpful and some staff speak English. However, it is a smaller Archives with a lot of information and most Archives will charge for their time, copies, postage, etc.

If you are looking for a specific village within the last 100 years, they may not have the documents and you may need to turn to a regional/ district office for what you are looking for. For example, for the Radymno area you would need to go to the government records office for Nienowice, etc. And, the records kept there are from 100 years back - they won't do the research for you but the 2 staff are very nice and helpful and speak Polish only. I was there in 2009 looking for the last 100 years for Nienowice, etc but the records weren't in the Archives although earlier documents were. It took some emailing when I got back and found out that those records were in Radymno - and it was a staffer in Przemsyl that let me know, and he was right ... all of the records were there!! I went back to Radymno in 2010 and spent a week looking through the documents.

Hope this helps
