Surnames: Bryk Gawel Cudecka Cudecki Nowakowski

I am just beginning my work on my Polish roots and will be visiting the Krakow area next year with taking at least one day to go out to the villages of our ancestors. We know no relatives there and that isn't our area of real interest although it would be nice if that worked out.

Can anyone give me an idea of places to visit to give me an idea of what things were like back 100 years ago? We are going to the Vistula Ethnographic museum near Krakow, but would like to see something around these towns:

Kolbuszowa, Trzen, Zawoja

Some of the surnames are Bryk, Gawel, Cudecka/Cudecki, Nowakowski

Thanks for any information or advice.
