Classification: Query
Surnames: LUDWIG
I just found a record of the birth date of my 4 greatgrandfather, Franz Joseph LUDWIG, in the Bethlehem Moravian Church record, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania USA . It lists his date of birth as Wanowitz, Silesia in 1766 and also states he joined the church in Niesky in 1784. Both of those places are now in Poland.

Im having trouble finding records in Silesia. It was sometimes Polish, Czech, Austrian, and German. With a name like Franz Joseph I would go for Austrian Silesian records but does anyone know where you can find German Catholic or Protestnat records for Wanowitz.

Any help where I should go or where I could find records is so appreciated.
