I have traced my Slovak ancestors back to two small villages north of Kosice, Slovakia. My great-grandparents came from Kysak and Trebejov. The Hungarian names were Saroskoszeg and Terebo (with accents I can't type in here). An earlier ancestor came from Zehna (Zsegnye).
I am planning to visit these towns in the fall. I have reviewed church records going back to the early 1800s and will research some more at the state archive in Levoca. From those records, I have house numbers that should be linked to cadastral maps (e.g. Trebejov 11 and Kysak 4). I understand that the maps would allow me to identify specific houses or lots as places where my ancestors lived.
But where do I get the maps? Can I order them online or by mail? Or is there a specific archive I should visit?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
