I am looking for any possible leads regarding the Levin family that lived in Vetka (small town northeast of Gomel) prior to the 1870's. My great-great-great grandfather was born in Vetka in the mid 1850's. His name was Eliezer Lipman "Lipa" Levin. His father's name was Schneur Zalman Levin. Schneur Zalman died sometime before 1874.

Eliezer Lipman Levin married someone named Henye (maiden name unknown) in about 1873, and moved to Novozybkov, which was in Chernigov Guberniya at the time.

He had cousins in Gomel who had the last name Burchuk/Burchyk.

The Levin family (Lipa, Henye, and seven children) moved a few at a time from Novozybkov to Philadelphia between 1905-1906.

If anyone has any information regarding any Levins living in the area around Vetka and Gomel, I would appreciate it.
