Are you aware of where your Karl was from in Bosnia? I notice there are a few other WEROSTA found on ship manifests, Ferdinand and an older Karl and a Wetti (the last one did not make the trip) but the key to all of them is the place they came from Ferdinand's manifest said his destination in the US was to his brother Karl and while the transcribers listed him as Croatian that is actually crossed through and replaced with Bosnian. His former residence is listed as Zavidoic(i) which is located NW of the capital of Sarajevo... the other 2 listed Zenica as their place of origin.

Also there are several manifests which list aliens employed on the vessel Alphacca landing at New York Karl is one the other is Boris. Also Karl shows up on another arrival of that ship spelled as VEROSTA. Also there is a manifest for a Betti VEROSTA also from Zenica, Bosnia.
