I do not normally help because every time I do I am running into trouble. People just do not know what they want.
You name is a very old Venetian name spelled with two "z"; BOZZO, BOZZI, BOZZA. (People don't know that "A" at the end is female; (Roberta) "O" is male (Roberto) and "I" is plural (Roberti)).
Bozzo is wooden cup that was used to drink wine. The family dates back (the earliest date I have is 1173.
You ancestors were probably Venetians settled in Crete, They must have been rich because they were "Nobili" and they had "Feouda = Lands", close to Barons. In other words, they owned many personal "slaves" and the land had many "Villanus" (a step above slaves).
In 1669, in the house of Cretan refugees in Zakynthos, the family Mpotsa (the Greek spelling) is listed.
Laurentios Mpotsas Son of the late Tzouane (1682).
Maria Bozza del Andrea di Candia was a student in University of Padova 1681-1684, Etc etc.
There are hundreds of documents but the documents are very rare and copies are not available.
The only document you may be able to access is: G. Gerola, Gi Stemmi, pages 245-246.
There could be a family tree there (Gerola was not very reliable, he used to "Adjust" names and dates to suit his views).
In fact we probably have common ancestors
In Crete the name variations are: Mpotsis; Mpotsas; Mpotzakis/Mpotsakis; Mpoutsakis; Mpotzolakis; Botzakis; Botzourakis; Mpozakis; Mpouzas; Bouzas; Mpouzakis.
