When I replied yesterday, I assumed that few things where checked and that it was certain that the person in question was Greek.

I did not mention for example, that in Greece before 1960, the word "Parras" meant "Money" (Turkish word (?)). (Possous Parrades echis = How much money do you have). In Greece the name Parras exists as it is, not shortened.

Now, back to this thread. I believe the person in question (PARR) is a British subject born in Greece, probably in Corfu.
Quite few people tried to obtain information in the past, for example a lady called Sue Parr, and a lady called Joyce Parr Blevins.

There are many records of British persons named PARR born in Greece between 1850 and 1890.
A clue is the first name of the person. If it is Despina, Isidoros, Aristotelis, Andrikos, MAnoussos, Aristidis, etc. the family is of Greek descent. If it is Robert, Lucille, Arthur, William, Angie, George, Joeanne, Donald, etc they are of British Descent.
There is a special section that deals with the family Parr (British family Parr). You will find a few Greek related posts there.
Anyway, you must give much more information about the persons you think they are Greek to get a correct reply.
