Some updates/corrections on this posting ...

His name was Thomas Deé (note accent) based on a letter from his mother. His father was Tomasz Deé. He was first married to an Ilona Kardos probably in 1901 and then married 2nd to Helen Jurigayi in the U.S., but her location is correct on birth. Tibor must have been the son from the first marriage.

The Tamasne is just a derivation of her husband's name so that isn't her name really.

Finally they were all devout Roman Catholic's in religion.

Any help would be appreciated.

Respectfully,

Kevin Strattan

Thomas Dee b. 1877 in Cluj and Helen Jurigayi

Looking for more information Thomas Dee born 23 Dec 1877 in Koloszvar, Hungary (Cluj, Romania). He emigrated in 15 Mar 1906 from Hamburg, and was married about 1901 to Helen Jurigayi "Helen Juriga" which must have been in Cluj as well I'm guessing?

Helen Juriga was born 12 Mar 1881 in Atany, Hungary (Heves County), so it is possible they were married there as well. She is the daughter of Bela Jurigayi and Rosalee Gebora but that is the extent of my knowledge.

As for Thomas Dee, I have his mother being Tamasne who died in Cluj sometime after 13 Nov 1947, but not sure how accurate that information is.

Anyone who can help me learn more about this family that would be great. Oh, I have 3 of their children too, but only one was born in Cluj that I know of and his name is Tibor Dee born in 1903. The other 2 children I have were both born in the U.S.A.

Respectfully,

Kevin Strattan

Hello:

Thank you for replying. I only knew of Marton, Etelka and Herman but not of the others. How do you know this family? Getting information via Ancestry is very rare but I've had good success with LDS Family search, Yad Vashem and RomaniaGen. Have you been to Halmeu? I visited several years ago and obtained some records.

Thanks for getting in touch.

Stapler40
I am looking for relatives, possibly in Turda or Bucharest. My grandfather was Anghel Stanescu. My mother was Aneta Stanescu Donaldson; her sister was Angela Stanescu Lucas. My mother also had a half sister, Hary, and two half-brothers, whose names I do not know. One may be named Antoniu, but I am not sure. I know that one of my mother's half-brothers and his family lived in Turda. I have found pictures of them amongst my Aunt Angela's things. Both my mother and my Aunt Angela lived in the U.S. until they passed away. I met my Aunt Hary because she visited us twice in the U.S. I do not know if my uncles are still living, but I know that both of them had children that are most likely still alive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My grandmother was born in Cluj, altthough her birth cert says Gogogn, Rumania. She always told me Cluj. Her maiden name was Molodvan. Do you have any idea how one could try and gather records from Rumania? I am at a dead stop with just her birth certificate, bible and passport which I had translated. In the passport it lists the parents and godparents names, baptizing priest, midwife's name for both grandfather and grandmother. If you have any contacts in Rumania or any knowledge on how to get documents, please advise. Pam
pdrail1@gmail.com

Thank you so much for your help. My email is fstacy0528@aol.com if you have any questions that I might be abel to answer. I didn't want to write you an email without giving you my email address first so you would know who it was from. I won't be at home this coming up week so I won't have my computer but I wil use my friends computer to check for an email from you. I am so glad that I found someone to help becasue I left the country when I was 9 years old and really don't remember much at all. I can describe where I lived but it has been so long ago I don't know how much of help it would be. Not only that I might be describing a bunch of places that might resemble so it might not be of help. I wish I remembered the name of the school I went to because it was right next to the apartment I lived in. Also a few blocks down there was a mall there too and also a bus station. Like I said i wish I would remember more or had some names. It would make it easier ont he search. Again thanks a lot for your help. I really appreciate it.

Thanks for your help, but I am not getting anything else other then the names. I do not speak Romanian and Hungarian anymore so I am having a lot of problems understand and trying to figure out what I need to do. Google only translated some of the artilce and won't translate Hungarian to English at all. I do have another question for you or whoever reads this if you don't mind. My parents got divorced sometime in the early to mid 80s. My mom remarried and as far as I herd to the mans last name. I don't know her last name now. Would I be able to look her up somewhere under her old married name?
Thanks a lot for your help.

I am looking for family in Cluj by the last name of Fehervary. I have not been able to find anything on anyone except on my dad who passed away in April of 2001. Don't know much about the family but my moms first name is Palagia, my dad and her divorced in early to mid 80s. they were married for 22 years. I know my mom remarried but don't know her current last name if she is still alive. i also have family in Austria, Hungary nad Sweeden. My dad and I moved to Austria in 1986 around the age of 9 and then moved to the USA in 1988. I am just basically trying to find info and trace back my family. I do know my paternal grandparents name Minaly and Maria Fehervary. If anyone happens to know who they are or know how i might be able to get info, please reply to this message. It will be greatly appreciated.
