My great-great grandmother Celia Altman Eidex was born in Vaslui. When her mother (" " Goldstein) was murdered by the pogroms, her father, Julius Altman, hid her in a closet, where she stayed on bread and water. Her uncle Harris Goldstein sent over for her from America. She married Max Eidex in 1907. Has anyone heard of these surnames?
